Thanks for taking part in an interview to help us get to know you and enable our supporters to help us choose who wins.

To start with, will you please describe yourself in five Words?
Ruby Replies :
Hi Ces, thanks for featuring me. I would describe myself as : ambitious, creative, eclectic, honest, strong.
Ces Creatively Asks :
So what about your business, can you describe that in five words for us?

Ruby Replies :
Girly, lovely, different, unusual, ethical.
Ces Creatively Asks :
Tell us how you got started with your business Ruby?

Ruby Replies :
I was looking for a way to work for myself from home as my youngest boys are homeschooled, I always create something everyday whether it it is from sewing, knitting, crochet, painting, drawing, photography or cooking, doing the things I love most and getting paid too is wonderful. But more than cash I love the feeling that goes with the delight on peoples faces when they see my things, it gives me a real sense of acomplishment.
Ces Creatively Asks :
What do you enjoy most about running your business?

Ruby Replies :
Being at home with my family and fitting my work around family life not the other way round.
Ces Creatively Asks :
What does a typical day in your business involve?

Ruby Replies :
There is no typical day, each day is unique and usually depends on the feeling I have that day what tasks to do, I always check emails, facebook, misi etc, I prioritize what to make depending if I have orders or a craft fair coming up, then I fit in making things in between home school and house stuff, I often take my projects with me to the park or on days out if its sunny.
Ces Creatively Asks :
What do you find most challenging about running your business?

Ruby Replies :
Having the time to get everything done, not being able to switch off, I’m always coming up with ideas and I flit from one thing to the next and I work from the dining/school/craft room so it would be better for me to have my own work room for less distractions.

Ces Creatively Asks :
Do you have a clear divide between work and family life?
Ruby Replies :
No.
Ces Creatively Asks :
LOL Neither do I – I think that goes with being a real creative… impossible to switch off or restrict when the ideas flow! Tell us about your family and what makes you tick outside of business?

Ruby Replies :
I have 3 boys, a lovely partner who is most understanding of my messy, creative ways, 4 chickens who make me smile each morning and I adore growing veg. We are a family who is very earth friendly, we use no chemicals at all, we are dairy and gluten free, we try to only eat organic and free range foods, we are very much interested in whats happening to our world and are compassionate about it. I adore vintage/retro items, I used to have a vintage/retro clothes shop and collect furniture, pottery and books from a bygone era. I love to read and complete books within a few days, I also love to listen to music especially on vinyl and sing and dance like no ones watching.
Ces Creatively Asks :
What would your advice be to someone about to set up a business in your industry?

Ruby Replies :
The market is saturated with craft items but there is always room for something different, find your USP.
Ces Creatively Asks :
What ALWAYS makes you smile Ruby?

Ruby Replies :
My family and my chickens, they are daft.

Ces Creatively Asks :
Why would you like to #WIN £750 DESIGN AND PRINT TO SUPPORT A BUSINESS MUM GIVE AWAY with www.supportivebusinessmums.co.uk and www.biz-brand-buzz.co.uk and what would you like us to design for you?
Ruby Replies :
I would like to win because I do all my printing from home and I would love my business cards etc to look professional so I am taken more seriously. I would like you to design me a logo that links all the things I do and so I can have a brand instead of just a name.
